The Cultural Resource Office is routinely involved in conducting archaeological prospection using geophysical and remote sensing equipment. Over the years CRO has conducted a multitude of geophysical surveys, the first beginning in 1999. The data interpretation of these surveys has been principal to locating subsurface features that aid in the outcome and success of pursuing scientific research questions. CRO has conducted surveys on prehistoric and historic sites including: cemeteries, town and village sites, battlefields and military encampments.
